Job Description
The Chief Engineer position at The Algonquin Hotel Times Square with Highgate Hotels is a key role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the engineering division and security. Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, and other assets in a safe and acceptable state of repair.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
- Supervise and train all Engineering staff on Customer Service, SOPs, and Loss Prevention.
- Create and adhere to the annual budget for the department.
- Develop financial forecasts and participate in profit/loss review meetings.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs for all hotel equipment.
- Participate in energy conservation programs and ensure compliance with all safety standards.
- Handle room maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of progressive facilities management experience or related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Stationary Engineer's license may be required by local code.
- Strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize departmental functions, and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and a warm, friendly demeanor.
