Boeing Commercial Airplanes has an exciting opportunity for a Decorative Interior Repair Person working on the 737 North Line in Everett, WA.

As a Decorative Interior Repair Person, you will be an integral part of the inaugural 737 North Line program. For the first 8-12 weeks, your foundational skills practice will be at either our Auburn, Renton, Everett, South Park on any shift. Then you will be required to train at our 737 Renton Factory Site on any shift until the North Line is activated. This will provide you with additional knowledge to help you interpret Boeing’s drawings, readings, and comprehending work instructions. Once the North Line is activated, you will report to the onsite work location in Everett, WA.

Employees in this position rework and repair interior aircraft parts and assemblies made from various types of material including fiberglass, plastic, and composites. This job is performed at various stages of the aircraft assembly process, in shop and/or factory locations.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain daily work assignment from lead/supervisor, or call sheet.
  • Perform walk through inspection of aircraft interior looking for obvious visible defects to document and/or repair.
  • Repair interior defects identified by other mechanics, or send to responsible shop (e.g., fiberglass) for repair, vacuum bag, cure and return to interiors repairman for re-wallpaper or touch up/paint of the area.
  • Locate work area using drawings that specify airplane number, section number, and 3 point location.
  • Disassemble parts, remove defective interior trim part/detail using hand tools, clean surfaces with solvent prior to applying bondo, decorative material, or paint.
  • Apply potting compound, core potting compound, alodine, primer, adhesives, special finishes, as required by drawing, using appropriate protective equipment.
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous material in an approved manner.
  • Fit and assemble detail components (e.g., brackets, SL screw insert, trim), to repaired parts (e.g., stowage bins, ceilings, sidewalls, partitions) per drawings.
  • Paint a part or touch up a repair area using a Preval sprayer, thinning out the paint with polane reducer to achieve the proper texture.
  • Rework and incorporate changes per engineering specifications, OSIP, NCO, non-conformance documents to various types of materials (e.g., vinyl wallpaper, graphite composites, plastics, rubber), as required.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience following oral and written instructions
  • Accurately differentiate between Red/Orange/Yellow/Green/Blue etc. colors
