Salary: $25 - $32/hour
City Cruises is seeking a Captain for our City Cruises operation in New York City.
About the Opportunity:
The successful Captain will greet all guests, ensure their safety, and maintain high levels of service and satisfaction while ensuring profitability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Rotate as cruise captain, ensuring adherence to procedures and guest satisfaction.
- Conduct pre-cruise meetings and ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain ship's systems, Coast Guard regulations, and emergency response plans.
- Recruit, train, and schedule crew members.
- Develop positive relationships with department heads and peers.
- Resolve guest problems and oversee safety programs.
- Complete shift records, incident reports, and payroll duties.
- Attend scheduled meetings and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 100-ton license with a satisfactory record.
- Minimum five years of marine experience, two years as a captain.
- Detailed working knowledge of ship's systems.
- Ability to operate vessel per Coast Guard rules.
- FCC Marine Radio Operator Permit and vessel handling knowledge.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident per USCG regulations.
