Job Summary
Dialysis Technician performs tasks contributing to maintenance dialysis for patients with end-stage renal disease, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Identifies intradialytic comorbidities and monitors patients and equipment alarms during treatment.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Dialysis or healthcare experience required
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Completion of an approved dialysis tech program provided by Avera if not previously completed
- Certification as Dialysis Technician required within 18 months of employment from Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT), Board of Nephrology Examiners of Nursing and Technology (BONENT), or National Nephrology Certification Organization (NNCO)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required for all patient care staff
