Job Description
The Engineer, Level 1 at Sheraton San Jose is responsible for maintaining the property in optimal condition with minimal inconvenience to customers and employees. This role involves conducting repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and Federal codes.
Responsibilities
- Make repairs to the hotel air conditioning system, including changing filters and cleaning coils.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical systems, and more.
- Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, fixtures, and furniture as needed.
- Conduct plumbing repairs, trace and repair water lines, and troubleshoot kitchen equipment.
- Test, clean, and repair swimming pools, spas, and more.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required, with at least one year of experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Trade school or college coursework in a related field is helpful.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with employees and guests in a service-oriented manner.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize functions, and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
