Job Description
The Engineer, Level 1, at Courtyard Portland East is responsible for maintaining the property in optimal condition with minimal disruption to customers and employees. Responsibilities include HVAC system maintenance, equipment repairs, plumbing work, electrical tasks, and general maintenance duties in compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system, change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment such as boilers, chillers, and electrical systems.
- Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, fixtures, and program televisions as needed.
- Perform furniture, plumbing, and kitchen equipment repairs.
- Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
- Paint designated areas and repair wall coverings.
- Repair and maintain work according to local, state, and Federal codes.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required, experience in a hotel or related field is a plus.
- Minimum one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Trade school or College coursework in a related field is beneficial.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and guests.
- Must be able to multitask, prioritize tasks, and solve problems efficiently.
- Attend all hotel required meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain high standards of grooming and comply with hotel standards and regulations.
- Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Hourly Rate: $19.00
