Engineer

Job Description

Altair Bay Harbor Hotel Miami is seeking an Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. As part of the engineering team, the Engineer, Level 1, will play a crucial role in maintaining the property to the highest standards, ensuring minimal disruption to guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to the hotel's air conditioning system, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Test and record readings on equipment, including cooling towers.
• Replace and program televisions, light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
• Perform furniture repair, plumbing repairs, and troubleshoot kitchen equipment.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and ensure compliance with codes.
• Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas; paint and repair designated areas.
• Understand and read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and repair various types of water lines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with experience in a hotel or related field.
• At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
• Trade school and/or college coursework in a related field is helpful.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work long hours when required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Attend required hotel meetings and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
• Maximize productivity, handle problems efficiently, and maintain confidentiality.
• Cross-train in other hotel-related areas and show initiative in meeting guest and operational needs.
