Job Description

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist in the delivery of high-quality and safe clinical care in the neurosurgery department. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in patient care and operational flow, performing clinical and clerical duties to enhance patient satisfaction and provider efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain patient safety in the environment of care.
• Prepare patients for examination, including obtaining medical history, vital signs, and documenting findings in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Assist the provider with patient care, including wound care, specimen collection, administering immunizations and injections, and assisting with minor procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare personnel and patients to ensure quality and continuity of care.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Preferred: Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant program or Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA).

Licensure, Certification, Registration: Preferred: Certification required upon hire and maintained if not a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, knowledge of medical terminology, basic computer skills, critical thinking, and organizational abilities.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
