Job Description

We are seeking an On-Call Substitute Teacher to join Ombudsman Educational Services and contribute to our mission of offering hope and educational support. As a member of our dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in providing quality instruction and support while fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Delivering instruction using curriculum materials and educational software.
• Developing daily lesson plans and classroom schedules in line with state and school requirements.
• Collaborating with fellow teachers and support staff to provide instructional support and approved modifications to the curriculum.
• Implementing standards for student behavior to ensure a safe, secure, and effective learning environment.
• Maintaining regular contact with students' parents/guardians to keep them informed of student progress, areas of difficulty, and any changes or situations affecting performance.
• Participating in team meetings when necessary to address specific student and parent concerns.
• Assessing student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems.
• Keeping up to date with research-based practices and developments in subject areas, resources, and professional development.
• Responding constructively to formal and informal feedback.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field.
• Meet state substitute teacher licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Special education certification preferred.
• Advanced oral and written communication, instruction, curriculum, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Advanced skills in working with students with disabilities and diverse needs at various levels.
• Knowledge and understanding of state and/or national content standards.
• Knowledge of relevant technology, including experience with instructional technology, computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
