Job Description
The Overnight Engineer at The Gabriel South Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton is responsible for maintaining the property in top condition at all times. This role ensures minimal inconvenience to customers and employees by performing maintenance and repairs to various systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Make repairs to the hotel's air conditioning system, including changing filters and cleaning coils.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Test and maintain various equipment, including cooling towers and televisions.
- Repair and replace components such as light switches, receptacles, plumbing fixtures, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records in compliance with codes.
- Keep swimming pools, spas, and designated areas in good condition through regular testing and maintenance.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent with experience in a hotel setting.
- At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Trade school or college coursework in a related field is helpful.
- Flexibility to work long hours when required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and guests in a courteous manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask to meet deadlines.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and adhere to hotel regulations.
- Effectively handle guest and operational issues in a proactive manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and show initiative in addressing needs.
