Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative work environment.
• Ensure specimens are collected according to laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with care providers regarding patient data or samples.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Follow procedural directions, prioritize workload, and support team productivity.
• Adhere to proper protocols for specimen handling and transport.
• Perform specimen accessioning, infection control, and drug screen collection.
• Handle laboratory department calls and recognize emergent conditions.
• Provide phlebotomy services with a focus on professionalism and patient care.
• Contribute to self-evaluation, continuous improvement, and quality patient care.
• Promote service excellence, laboratory growth, and collaboration across departments.
• Perform arterial punctures and maintain infection control practices.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred: Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program or relevant experience in a clinical setting.
